Beautiful extinct volcanic mountain in central Armenia, located between Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces. With an elevation of around 2,614 meters (8,576 ft), it’s a popular destination for day hikes and nature lovers. The mountain features gentle slopes, rich biodiversity, and panoramic views of the Ararat plain and surrounding peaks.

Ara Ler is also steeped in legend—named after Ara the Beautiful, an ancient Armenian king. Hikers can enjoy spring wildflowers, birdwatching, and a relatively easy ascent, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. Best hiking months are April to October.
