One of Armenia’s most iconic peaks, rising to 3,206 meters in the Syunik Province, just south of Kapan. Known for its sharp silhouette and spiritual significance, Khustup is also the burial site of national hero Garegin Nzhdeh, making it both a natural and cultural landmark.

The hike to the summit is moderate to challenging, with steep, rocky paths and panoramic views over the Zangezur Mountains and Armenia-Iran borderlands. Most routes begin from Baghaburj village, with many hikers camping overnight at Base Camp (~2,100 m) before summiting the next morning. Best season: July to September.
